According to DappRadar, Coinbase has announced the integration of its x402 payment protocol and wallet infrastructure natively into the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments (AI Agent Core Payments). This is the first time AWS is providing developers on a mainstream cloud platform with native encrypted micro-payment capabilities, enabling enterprise AI Agents to autonomously discover services, complete payments in USDC, and execute tasks, all while maintaining full compliance governance, budget controls, and audit trails. Settlements can be finalized on Base and Solana in around 200 milliseconds, costing less than a cent, without the need for an account, subscription, or checkout page.

This solution empowers enterprises to securely grant AI Agents "financial autonomy": through a single API call to complete payments (where the Agent cannot access private keys), set temporary budget limits (e.g., $1 within 5 minutes), and leverage Coinbase's built-in anti-money laundering, sanctions screening, and end-to-end dashboard logging. Currently integrated with thousands of x402 services (such as Exa, Messari, etc.), it supports Agent real-time search and pay-as-you-go. x402 is an open-source neutral protocol governed by the x402 Foundation, having processed over 169 million payments. This collaboration signifies a significant advancement in Agentic Commerce's journey towards enterprise adoption.
