In May of this year, the Federal Reserve released the "2025 U.S. Economic Well-being of U.S. Households Report" (SHED), which showed that by 2025, 10% of U.S. adults had used or invested in cryptocurrency, a 2 percentage point increase from the previous year but still below the 12% seen in 2021. Among them, 9% bought or held cryptocurrency as an investment, 2% used it to purchase goods or services, and 1% used it to transfer money to friends or family. The report also indicated that 6% of unbanked adults used cryptocurrency for financial transactions, compared to 2% of those with bank accounts.
