From June 18 to 19, NostraCongress, a charity event hosted by the Spain-based Nostravisión, had been broadcast live on Youtube and Twitch. It sought to raise donations for the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona. Having been invited to the campaign, CoinEx Charity participated in NostraCongress as a donor and sponsor. The campaign aimed to raise €10,000 and over-fulfilled its target (see the picture below for the specific amount).

Join hands with charitable organizations to care for childhood cancer patients

Around the world, the number of childhood cancer patients is on the rise, with one in every 408 children diagnosed with cancer, according to the WHO. Meanwhile, each year, an estimated 400,000 children and adolescents aged from 0 to 19 develop cancer. In most cases, one or both parents of the childhood cancer patient can no longer work because they have to care for their child during treatment, which also puts the family in a tough financial position. Children’s hematological diseases and malignant tumours manifest themselves as many different diseases and are hard to treat, involving complicated multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment. The long treatment cycle, expensive costs, and heavy financial burdens are some of the urgent problems relating to these diseases. In many cases, one childhood cancer patient is enough to turn a middle-class family into a poor one or bring a poor family back into poverty, which has become a major roadblock in the global fight against poverty.

NostraCongress 2022, a crypto charity campaign hosted by the blockchain education organization Nostravisión, gathered over 60 speakers from the crypto world, including CoinEx Charity. All funds raised during the campaign will be donated to the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital Barcelona, which is the first monographic pediatric hospital in Spain and an international landmark in the treatment of children. The campaign encourages people to donate funds to the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona to treat and care for more brave kids from here and around the world.

As a global charity, CoinEx Charity, along with the Spain-based Nostravisión, launched NostraCongress to help childhood cancer patients and their families through online charity and donations. The campaign set out to raise online donations from the public, and CoinEx Charity also gave donations to provide financial support for such families, make sure they get the required medical treatments, and help both kids and their families stick through. The campaign over-fulfilled the original target and all donations will be transferred to the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona.
