BlockBeats News, July 15th, the United States is advancing negotiations on an oil pipeline that will bypass the Strait of Hormuz, transporting oil from Iraq to Syria to reduce Iran's future influence on global energy supply.
According to sources, U.S. Special Representative for Syria and Iraq, Thomas Barrack, has convened officials from both countries, along with companies including Chevron, to discuss restarting a long-idle oil pipeline from Iraq to the Syrian coast.
While various new route options are currently under consideration, the talks are primarily focused on rebuilding the Kirkuk to Baniyas oil pipeline, which has been out of operation for over two decades. A U.S. State Department official confirmed that the U.S. government is supporting the restoration of the oil pipeline between Iraq and Syria to expand trade routes, with American companies expected to play a key role in its construction.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump met with the Iraqi Prime Minister at the White House and stated that "large-scale" new oil cooperation will be announced later this week or next week. (Golden Finance)
