WSJ: U.S. Military Has Drafted Two-Week Iran Intensive Airstrike Plan, Awaiting Trump Decision

BlockBeats News, July 30th - According to WSJ, last week, inside Air Force One on the tarmac in Delaware, President Trump held urgent discussions with the top war advisor - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kane and Secretary of Defense Haggiseth. Also present at this impromptu meeting was General Brad Cooper, commander of Central Command. Cooper outlined a punitive two-week maximum air strike plan against Iran.

Now, in the face of Iran's missile attack launched on Tuesday, President Trump has vowed retaliation, but the decision balance teeters: he could choose to approve Cooper's proposed 10- to 14-day intensive air strikes aimed at crippling Iran's missile capabilities - although the military has warned of a shortage of missile defense ammunition; or he could opt for a more restrained military strike, leaving room for diplomatic mediation.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Cooper's high-intensity plan aims to break the stalemate of previous tit-for-tat airstrikes through a sharp escalation of the conflict. In his series of proposed actions, this "show of force" would reduce the need for the U.S. to use defensive ammunition as Iran's offensive capability would be diminished.
