BlockBeats News, June 1st, according to CNBC, the AI-Driven Enterprise Institute (AIDE) released its latest research report evaluating the level of artificial intelligence applications in the S&P 500 companies. The report assessed AI cognition, advocacy, strategic orientation, and implementation on the ground based on public data such as earnings conference calls, job postings, patent applications, and more.
The results showed that Nvidia, Meta, Amazon, and energy services giant Schlumberger (now SLB) scored a perfect 100 points, jointly ranking as the top companies in AI application level. Walmart, AES, NextEra Energy, Alphabet, Microsoft, and other companies also ranked high.
By industry, Alphabet ranked first in the communication services industry, Amazon ranked first in the consumer discretionary industry, Walmart ranked first in the consumer staples industry, SLB ranked first in the energy industry, Block ranked first in the financial industry, and Microsoft ranked first in the information technology industry.
AIDE CEO Paul Cheek stated that the index aims to provide an objective reference for corporate boards and management to assess their AI strategy and the gap with peers, rather than measuring AI's direct contribution to corporate financial returns. The report also pointed out that there is still significant room for improvement in AI literacy among current corporate boards and executive groups.
