Feature Introduction
CoinEx provides Auto Loan and Auto Repayment features to help you manage your funds more efficiently during margin trading without repeatedly borrowing or repaying manually.
1. Auto Loan
When the order amount exceeds the available balance in your margin account, the system will automatically calculate and borrow the shortfall to complete the order simultaneously.
(1) Borrowing occurs instantly upon successful order placement, regardless of whether the order is fully executed.
(2) Auto loan only applies to [Limit] and [Market] orders.
(3) “Maximum Available” displayed on the interface = Available assets + Maximum remaining borrowable amount.
2. Auto Repayment
The system will check all your margin accounts every 30 minutes. When the available asset of a specific coin ≥ the asset to be repaid (principal + interest), the [Auto Repayment] will be triggered automatically.
(1) When [Auto Repayment] is enabled, the system will immediately perform an initial check and then check every 30 minutes thereafter.
(2) Repayment amount = Unpaid borrowed amount + Unpaid interest.

1. Reducing interest: Timely repayment avoids additional interest expenses. 2. Convenience: No need to monitor positions or operate manually; the system manages it all. |
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Activate [Auto Loan] and [Auto Repayment]
(1) Click [Auto Loan] and [Auto Repayent] in the Margin Trading section.
Note: [Auto Loan] and [Auto Repayent] are disabled by default and must be activated manually.
(2) When the pop-up window appears, click [Confirm].
(3) Without Auto Loan enabled, you can only open positions of 1X leverage.
To use higher leverage, you can manually borrow cryptos by going to [Margin] > [Assets], selecting the desired trading pair, and clicking [Borrow].
2. Transfer
(1) Set the transfer direction from [Spot] to [Margin], confirm the coin type, and enter the amount, then click [Confirm]. (e.g. transfer 100 USDT from Spot account to Margin account)
(2) After transfer, the maximum available amount = available assets + maximum remaining borrow.
For example, CoinEx supports 10X leverage for BTC/USDT, suppose the Index price of BTC is 16805.56 USDT, and your available asset is 100 USDT.
a. For the pricing coin, the amount you can borrow is 900 USDT, and the maximum available amount would be 100 USDT + 900 USDT = 1000 USDT.
b. For the base coin, the amount you can borrow is 900/ 16805.56 = 0.0535537 BTC, and the maximum available amount would be 0 BTC+ 0.0535537 BTC = 0.0535537 BTC.
3. Place an order to buy cryptos
Note: A crypto loan will be completed once the order is placed. (Take maximum leverage as an example)
A crypto loan will be completed after a buying order is placed successfully.
Note: You can check the borrowing details on [Borrowing Records].
4. Place an order to sell your holding assets for repayment
(1) Set the price for the sell order.
(2) Enter the amount to sell according to your maximum available amount.
5. Repayment
(1) After the order is executed, all margin accounts will be reviewed every 30 minutes by the system. If there are enough assets, the system will automatically carry out [Auto Repayment].
(2) You may choose to repay manually, if needed.
Go to [Margin] > [Assets] page, find the trading pair that you'd like to repay for, and click [Repay] to repay manually.
6. Repayment Successful
After successfully paying off the debts, you can transfer the remaining assets to your Spot account or continue trading.
FAQs
1. Will Auto Loan generate interest?
Yes. Interest starts accruing as soon as the fund is borrowed. After that, interest is calculated on an hourly basis.
2. What happens if I disable Auto Repayment?
Disabling this feature means the system will no longer repay your loans automatically. You must closely monitor interest and manually manage repayments to prevent forced liquidation caused by overdue interest repayments.
3. Will Auto Repayment affect my trades or open orders?
No, when the system identifies sufficient available assets for repayment, it will use idle assets to repay, without forcibly selling or canceling orders.
4. Can I make partial repayments?
No, if the available assets are greater than or equal to the amount owed, the system will repay all outstanding debt for that cryptocurrency in one transaction.
5. Will enabling or disabling Auto Loan/Auto Repayment affect my current leveraged positions?
No, changing these settings only impacts future actions and will not alter your current holdings or borrowed assets.
