Monad’s Road to Mainnet: Technology, Ecosystem, and Community Momentum
- PRE_MON0%
Overview
Five months since our last deep dive into the Monad blockchain's promising testnet, the landscape has evolved significantly. As a high-performance and fully EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, Monad is steadily advancing toward the critical stage of its mainnet launch. Over the past months, the Monad ecosystem has maintained strong momentum, with notable progress in technological innovation, ecosystem growth, and community engagement.
In this update, CoinEx Research provides an in-depth analysis of Monad’s latest developments to help investors and developers grasp the key trends ahead of the mainnet launch.
Core Technology Progress
The open-sourcing and launch of the MonadBFT consensus mechanism stand out as the centerpiece of this phase. In mid-August, the Monad testnet underwent a critical upgrade, officially deploying MonadBFT and achieving 400ms block times—significantly enhancing both speed and security. This consensus protocol not only provides fork-choice protection and linear message complexity but also enables rapid consensus among 186 validators worldwide.
On September 17, the Monad team successfully rolled out version v0.11.1 on testnet-2, marking an important milestone ahead of mainnet launch.

Ecosystem Growth and Application Development
The Monad Momentum ecosystem incentive program has become a key driver for user growth and application adoption. Using a “projects contribute first, foundation adds support” model, it encourages teams to design sustainable incentive schemes. The application deadline has been extended to October 8, following a highly active first round that closed on September 28 and demonstrated the ecosystem’s vitality and potential.
On the ecosystem front, Monad continues to deepen partnerships with industry leaders, fostering technical and service-level innovation. This collaborative effort is helping to expand user experience and enrich application scenarios.

Community Culture and Brand Building
Community initiatives are thriving. The Monad Blitz Hackathon series was held in Beijing, Chengdu, Bangkok, and other cities, attracting large numbers of developers and fueling innovation. The Monad Founder Residency program was also launched to support early-stage founders in building mature products.
Additional community activities—AMAs, tech talks, and meetups—were hosted across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Korea, and China. A highlight is the Monad Cards initiative, which distributed limited cards to core community members based on Crypto Twitter’s social graph, strengthening identity and cohesion.
In parallel, the Chinese community has built gmonadcc, a platform offering comprehensive ecosystem information and technical support to facilitate local engagement.
Conclusion
Overall, in the past months Monad has not only achieved breakthrough progress in technology but also demonstrated strong vitality in ecosystem building and community operations. With the mainnet launch drawing closer, Monad is steadily realizing its vision of becoming a high-speed, decentralized, and user-friendly next-generation blockchain platform.
Looking ahead, as core protocols mature and more ecosystem applications go live, Monad is poised to trigger a new wave of industry momentum and emerge as a key focus in the blockchain space.
