BlockBeats News, May 8th, OpenAI announced on Thursday that a variant of its latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-5.5-Cyber, is being introduced to vetted cybersecurity teams in a limited preview format. Just a month prior, its competitor Anthropic attracted investors and government officials with a preview version of Claude Mythos.

OpenAI noted that the preview version of GPT-5.5-Cyber is not designed to significantly enhance cybersecurity capabilities, but rather has been trained to be more flexible when handling security-related tasks. The company stated that with this version tailored for the cybersecurity field, vetted teams will more easily leverage OpenAI's latest model for vulnerability identification and scoring, patch validation, malware analysis, and other security-related workflows.
