BlockBeats News, July 9th, according to Securities Times, Alibaba has cumulatively invested approximately 7.6 billion yuan in Canaan, holding the highest stake among industry investors.
According to Canaan's prospectus and public information, the Alibaba ecosystem first invested in Canaan in December 2021. After multiple rounds of financing dilution, the stake corresponding to this investment is around 1%. Three and a half years later, in June 2025, the Alibaba ecosystem made a large additional investment, increasing its stake before the IPO to around 5%, with Alibaba Cloud holding 3.85% and Alibaba Network holding 1.12%.
As a result, the Alibaba ecosystem has cumulatively invested approximately 7.6 billion yuan in Canaan. It is understood that Alibaba Cloud was also one of the largest single investors in Canaan's final round of financing before its listing.
