BlockBeats News, July 29th - The Solana Policy Institute in the United States sent a letter to bipartisan Senate leaders, urging them to advance the Clarity Act digital asset bill to a vote before the legislative window closes in early August. This bill aims to provide regulatory clarity for U.S. crypto developers, institutions, and consumers, and establish a "non-custodial software developer" safe harbor through the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act. The latest Republican version has added ethical provisions that prohibit federal officials and their spouses from issuing or sponsoring digital assets, with these provisions set to expire on January 20, 2029.
SPI stated that the bill helps prevent regulatory and criminal enforcement from "overreaching" software developers and maintains the momentum of domestic development in the United States.
