CoinEx News: On August 26, 2026, a quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction was confirmed without changing Bitcoin’s consensus rules. Avihu Levy’s QSB method uses hours of off-chain GPU computation to create a hash-based spending path that remains secure even if future quantum computers break Bitcoin’s current signature system. The test cost about $150–$200 and went directly to MARA’s Slipstream because standard nodes would not relay the nonstandard transaction.
QSB protects only specially prepared coins; it does not secure Bitcoin network-wide or help addresses whose public keys were already exposed. It gives BTC holders a costly contingency path, while a protocol upgrade remains the broader solution. This is a security milestone, not evidence of new BTC demand or STRK utility.
