BlockBeats News, September 1st, according to on-chain researcher Rarma's analysis, Injective stopped producing blocks for approximately 3 hours and 42 minutes on August 31st. The block height recovered from 181,027,006 to 181,027,007 without any rollback during this period. QuickNode's status records also showed a network-wide blockage on the Injective mainnet that day, leading to the deployment of an emergency patch.
The attacker allegedly exploited Injective's insurance fund and permissionless binary options market creation mechanism repeatedly, conducting a total of 299 related operations. This resulted in consolidating around 1,979.8 ETH, valued at approximately $4.88 million, into a single address.
