BlockBeats News, September 7 - According to Binance Research's latest monthly market report, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose 17.6% in August to $2.70 trillion, driven primarily by ETF inflows and interest rate trading. However, as the market reprices Fed policy, whether the rally can continue will depend on whether spot and ETF demand can withstand liquidity tightening pressures.
The report noted that BTC rose 24.8% over the past 7 days, ranking among the top 1% of weekly gains since 2020. Historically, after 7 similar surges, BTC posted gains one month later in all cases, with 6 of those still higher after two months, averaging an 18.3% gain over the two-month period. However, Binance Research emphasized the limited sample size and noted that the short-squeeze effect in this rally has been largely released.
In terms of capital structure, the crypto allocation ratio of equity-type asset holders rose from 64% to 72%, stablecoin allocations fell by 22%, and the share of traditional finance perpetual contract trading volume dropped from 40% to 20%.
Additionally, weekend TradFi perpetual contract trading volume rose to $53 billion in August, up nearly 12-fold from the start of the year, indicating that 24/7 cross-asset trading demand is forming an independent market. The report also noted that with rising expectations for Anthropic's listing, its related Pre-IPO market surged in August.
