The US Central Command stated, "The Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial shipping. Iran does not control the strait"; over the past four months, "thousands of ships have passed through this international waterway."

Earlier on July 31st, the Iranian "Straits of Hormuz Authority" issued a statement stating that due to the continued aggressive actions of the US military in the relevant waters, the Strait of Hormuz is currently impassable. (CCTV)
