NVIDIA has currently invested in model developers like OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as new cloud service providers renting NVIDIA's computing power, and has provided funding support for data center projects. The company has provided $10.5 billion in support for a large computing power campus leased by OpenAI in Ohio and is also collaborating with major Wall Street financial institutions to arrange up to $500 billion in financing for data centers.

Some critics argue that the above arrangements resemble "round-trip financing," where a company provides funds to customers who then use some of the funds to purchase its products, potentially artificially boosting demand and revenue. Huang responded that cutting-edge AI labs represent a "once-in-a-lifetime" investment opportunity, and NVIDIA aims to be their equity investor, partner, and support these companies in building and expanding their ecosystems on the NVIDIA platform.

Huang also pointed out that these companies currently often lack investment-grade credit and the financial records needed to access funds at low cost, so NVIDIA can provide assistance. Even if individual supported companies face operational difficulties, the related computing infrastructure can still be transferred to other customers and workloads, resulting in lower risk for NVIDIA. He stated that the investments are expected to yield significant returns.
