2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) enhances account security by combining a second verification step (SMS, TOTP, or Passkey) in addition to your login password. If you reset 2FA due to a lost device or unavailable tools, your account protection may be temporarily reduced until a new 2FA method is enabled. If your password is compromised during this period, it may lead to unauthorized access to your account or asset loss. Please complete the reset and re-enable 2FA as soon as possible.
1. Access
💻Go to CoinEx’s official website (https://www.coinex.com), click your [Avatar], select [Security Settings], then go to [Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)].
2. Reset 2FA Tools
⚠️ Before resetting any 2FA tool, please ensure you have activated another 2FA tool (TOTP or Passkey is strongly recommended) to prevent your account from being unprotected.
✅ 2FA Tools Available
Go to [Security Settings], click [Manage] next to the corresponding tool, and select [Unbind] or [Change] for Mobile / TOTP / Passkey.
Follow the instructions below to complete the reset:
(1) Complete email verification
(2) Complete existing 2FA verification
(3) Bind and verify a new mobile number / TOTP / Passkey
Once the reset is successful, the new 2FA tool will take effect immediately.
🚫 All 2FA Tools Unavailable
Go to [Help Center] → [Reset Mobile / TOTP / Passkey].
After reading the instructions and confirming the reset, follow the guidance:
(1) Enter your account password
(2) Complete email verification
(3) Proceed to the identity verification process
You may complete identity verification through one of the following three methods:
(1) Answer security questions
(2) Complete biometric verification
(3) Submit the CoinEx email and the transfer record from the third-party platform
After the review is approved, the system will allow you to bind a new 2FA tool.
3. Security Tips
(1) After resetting, please re-bind at least one 2FA tool as soon as possible. Keeping your account without 2FA protection for an extended period will significantly increase the risk of theft.
(2) Passkey and TOTP are currently the most recommended 2FA methods, offering both high security and convenience.
(3) CoinEx DOES NOT back up user keys. Please store your 32‑digit TOTP key offline.
