BlockBeats News, August 3, Blockchain fintech company Ripple announced a strategic investment in the UK asset transfer agent Zilo and tokenization solution provider Licuido regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to promote the application of tokenized financial assets on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Ripple stated that the investment aims to introduce regulated asset transfer agency, asset issuance, and collateral mobility to the XRPL infrastructure to address the issue of idle collateral assets in traditional financial markets, allowing tokenized funds to be used as collateral from the initial issuance.
Zilo provides global transfer agency and asset solutions for wealth management institutions, with total funding of approximately $58.7 million. Licuido focuses on providing asset tokenization services to institutions. The specific investment amounts from both parties have not been disclosed.
This move follows Aviva Investors' launch of tokenized US dollar liquidity fund shares on XRPL. Previously, Ripple also introduced the Ripple Mint platform to help institutions issue, redeem, and manage their dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD).
Data shows that the current scale of Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization on XRPL is approximately $368 million, ranking 11th globally; Ethereum leads with a $17.1 billion scale. In the past 30 days, the number of RWA holders has grown by 50% to 1.57 million, and the total tokenized asset value has grown by 1.5% to $37.3 billion.
