If this application is approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Telegram's approximately 1 billion users will have the opportunity to have their own second-level domain.
Durov gave examples where a Telegram username such as @durov could correspond to durov.gram in the future, and @monk could correspond to monk.gram. Users will also be able to host and create interactive websites on Telegram through a command.
