BlockBeats News, August 27th - The Bitcoin multi-signature hardware wallet Frostsnap has released version 0.4.0, fixing two security issues and stating that no user funds have been lost so far. The two issues include: First (FSA-2026-001): A malicious signature request could mark a specific output as "belonging to the user's wallet," the device did not verify this claim and did not display it on the confirmation screen, potentially leading to funds being transferred to an address the user has never seen. Second (FSA-2026-002): The change address may fall outside the wallet's recovery scan, causing a displayed fund loss after backup recovery, even though the funds are still in the wallet. The updated application will prompt users to upgrade the device firmware and introduce firmware downgrade protection. The team recommends updating the application and firmware promptly.
