According to Dongcha Beating monitoring, jointly developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with teams from Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Wuhan Institute of Quantum Technology, China's first domestic dual-core atomic quantum computer was officially released recently. This quantum computer has upgraded the quantum processor from "single-core" to "dual-core" for the first time, providing a key support for indigenous high-end computing power.
This supercomputer, named "Han Yuan 2," does not contain traditional chips inside. It controls 200 atoms for computation through a precise optical system. Technicians explained that these 200 atoms are equivalent to 200 super brains, divided into two arrays to form a dual-core architecture, one for computation and the other for real-time error correction, doubling the efficiency. Compared to the "Han Yuan 1" released two years ago, the accuracy of manipulating atoms in "Han Yuan 2" has increased from 90% to 99%, and the stable lifetime of atoms has been extended from 20 seconds to over 100 seconds. At the same time, its total power consumption is less than 7 kilowatts, and it can stably operate in a standard laboratory environment without the need for a cryogenic cooling system.
