BlockBeats News, May 22nd. Former Ethereum Foundation core developer Dankrad Feist proposed that at least $10 billion should be raised to establish a new Ethereum advocacy organization to "save" ETH. The current foundation, as a non-profit organization, holds less than 0.1% of ETH, with no staking or fee revenue inflow, leading to a disconnect between its interests and the network's economic interests, hindering its ability to effectively drive up the ETH price. The new organization would need strong financial support, competent and "battle-minded" leadership, and a board of directors with a direct interest in ETH price appreciation. Part of the funds could come from staking revenue to achieve closer economic alignment and accountability with the Ethereum ecosystem.
The Ethereum Foundation has recently experienced a continuous loss of talent, with Feist himself resigning last year to join the Layer 1 project Tempo. This week, two more researchers resigned, intensifying community dissatisfaction with foundation governance and ETH performance. Feist, a key author of proposals like Danksharding, sparked heated discussion in the crypto community. Some see it as a necessary reform, while others are concerned about the potential introduction of centralization risks.
