BlockBeats News, July 16th, South Korean newspaper Daily Economic News reported in reference to an interview with Kuan Honxin, Chairman of KAMD Semiconductor, that in anticipation of an AI semiconductor equipment supply shortage starting next year, KAMD Semiconductor is considering constructing its eighth production plant, which will become the company's largest facility.

Kuan Honxin expects that starting from next year, semiconductor equipment demand will surpass supply. The site for the planned eighth plant is adjacent to the construction of the seventh plant in Incheon. KAMD Semiconductor stated that as global chipmakers expand their investments, there will be rapid growth in the market demand for the company's hot pressure bonding machines and hybrid bonding machines. The company plans to establish a KAMD Semiconductor US subsidiary in San Jose, California by the end of 2026 to strengthen technical support services.
