BlockBeats News, July 22, one of the largest Bitcoin mining pools, Foundry USA, is inviting its miner clients to vote on whether the pool should support BIP-110, a Bitcoin Improvement Proposal.

BIP-110 is a contentious soft-fork proposal aimed at reducing the amount of data that can be stored in Bitcoin transactions to limit the impact of non-monetary transactions, including Ordinals, on the Bitcoin network's space.

Foundry has stated that it has provided relevant proposal information to its miner clients, and the voting window will close at Bitcoin block height 961,632, expected in early August. Miner clients can participate in the vote through a link they receive via email.

BIP-110 is currently one of the most debated proposals in the Bitcoin community. Supporters believe the proposal will help reduce the space pressure from non-financial transactions, while opponents are concerned about its potential impact on the network's openness.

Blockstream CEO Adam Back has publicly opposed BIP-110, suggesting it could be used to freeze user funds. Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor has also criticized the proposal, stating it may disrupt some regular transactions.

According to Hashrate Index data, Foundry USA currently controls around 23.8% of Bitcoin's total network hashrate, making it one of the world's largest Bitcoin mining pools. Its stance on BIP-110 could influence the future community discussion and deployment process of the proposal.
