BlockBeats News, August 14th, according to Reuters, AMD has completed a four-tranche USD 4.75 billion bond issuance, setting a new record for the company's largest-ever USD bond financing. The issuance includes senior unsecured notes maturing in 2029, 2031, 2033, and 2036, with the 10-year bond ultimately priced 90 basis points above U.S. Treasuries, tightening about 25 basis points from the initial spread guidance, indicating strong investor demand.

AMD stated that the proceeds from this bond offering will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include debt repayment. As of June 27th, AMD held approximately USD 13.1 billion in cash and short-term investments and maintained a high investment-grade credit rating. Therefore, this financing is not due to liquidity pressure but rather aims to provide flexibility for future investments and funding arrangements.

This bond issuance comes amid the continued expansion of AI infrastructure investment. AMD is accelerating its growth in AI and data center business, competing with NVIDIA in the AI accelerator chip market. The company recently announced partnerships with Anthropic, Microsoft, among others, and plans to invest up to USD 5 billion in Anthropic.

The market expects AMD's revenue to grow by 47% this year, surpassing USD 51 billion. The USD 4.75 billion financing size is significantly larger than its last investment-grade bond issuance of USD 1.5 billion in March 2025, reflecting that companies in the AI industry chain are entering a phase of continuous capital investment expansion.
