BlockBeats News, September 2nd - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released the full agenda and guest list for the "24-Hour Trading" roundtable scheduled for September 17th. The meeting will take place at the SEC headquarters from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., open to the public and livestreamed on the SEC website. The agenda is divided into three panel discussions:

The first panel will focus on the readiness of the 24-hour market, including readiness of trading platforms and brokerages, overnight monitoring, closing price processes, clearing and settlement changes, and investor protection. Guests will include representatives from Robinhood, NYSE, BlackRock, Virtu Financial, Cboe, BNY Pershing, UBS, FINRA, and Bruce Markets.

The second panel will discuss the operational resilience of the 24-hour market, covering system readiness, Reg SCI compliance, failover and capacity planning, market data continuity, network security, and overnight staffing. Guests will include representatives from Jane Street, State Street, Samsung, JPMorgan Chase, Nasdaq, Interactive Brokers, DTCC, Exegy, and MEMX.

The third panel will focus on the expected impact of extended trading on liquidity and capital formation, as well as the infrastructure requirements for moving towards 24/7 trading. Guests will include representatives from OTC Markets, BNP Paribas, 24 Exchange, Invesco, Citadel Securities, DriveWealth, Blue Ocean, Citigroup, and ModernIR.

SEC Chair and Commissioners will deliver opening remarks, and Jamie Selway, Director of the Division of Trading and Markets, will also be in attendance. This roundtable is a key step for the SEC, during Chair Atkins' tenure, in advancing the U.S. stock market towards round-the-clock trading, marking a substantive preparatory phase from policy discussions to operational implementation.
