BlockBeats News, August 5th. Recently, Wall Street financial institutions have intensively initiated coverage of Samsung Electronics' ADR in the US stock market, all giving a "Buy" or "Hold" rating.
In its first report, Bank of America pointed out the robust orders of US tech companies, the company's leading position in the high-end storage chip market, and the continuous expansion of AI infrastructure investment, supporting a "super cycle"-level performance outlook, with Samsung Electronics currently being undervalued. A UBS analyst was the first to release a report on July 30th, giving a Buy rating and a $204 price target, believing that the memory supply shortage may continue until 2028. The current valuation "has not fully reflected the structurally improved memory profit capability, enhanced free cash flow generation ability, and significantly expanded shareholder returns." The most aggressive price target comes from Rosenblatt Securities, with a target price of $320, implying a potential upside of about 124%.
Prior to this, Samsung Electronics' stock price had fallen by about 37% from its June high. HSBC pointed out in a report released last weekend that the market's implied profit cycle had plummeted from about 6 years to 2.7 years, long-term trend earnings had dropped from about 6 times in 2024 to about 2 times, and pricing was overly pessimistic. The concentrated support from several Wall Street institutions this time echoes HSBC's conclusion, further strengthening the market's expectations for a revaluation of South Korean memory stocks.
