BlockBeats News, July 20th, according to Hyperinsight Monitoring, Silver (SILVER) soared to a high of $122 in late January this year, and is now trading at $56.92, a cumulative decline of 53.35% from the yearly high. As the market focuses on oil and storage stocks, the silver price has quietly halved.

A whale starting with 0x2fcb continues to profit from this round of decline. Currently, it is shorting 23,500 silver contracts with 25x leverage, with a position value of approximately $1.337 million, an entry average price of $81.26, and a liquidation price of $125.7; the unrealized profit is about $572,000, with a return of 749%.

Since January 27th, when silver was around $110, the whale began shorting, investing only about $159,000. Since then, through profit-taking in batches and additional shorting, it has accumulated about 111,000 short positions and covered about 87,600 positions, realizing a profit of $1.288 million this year.

Together with the current unrealized profit, the whale has accumulated a profit of about $1.86 million from its silver short positions this year. The whale has not added any new USDC deposits this year, but instead withdrew nearly $500,000. The subsequent positions will mainly be rolled over from existing funds and realized profits.

Currently, it still has 21 additional short sell orders ranging from $90 to $131, planning to short sell a total of 12,450 contracts, amounting to about $1.2032 million; if all executed, the silver short position will expand to 35,950 contracts.

Looking at 100 completed transactions in the past year, the whale has had 69 short positions, showing a significant bearish bias overall; the aforementioned sample of transactions has accumulated a net profit of about $452,000, with a win rate of 49%. The median holding period is about 5.2 days, with 80 transactions involving cryptocurrency, showing a preference for directional shorting.
