BlockBeats News, September 5th, according to WSJ report, sources familiar with the matter involved in the negotiations said that U.S. negotiators used a commitment to obtain NVIDIA's (NVDA.O) artificial intelligence chips to help facilitate a preliminary peace agreement reached last year between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
An unreported detail before was that the U.S. side, to encourage Armenia to participate in the negotiations, specifically expanded chip procurement approval for its data center project. This move has become one of the most notable examples to date, demonstrating what U.S. officials referred to as "chip diplomacy."
Although the Trump administration had previously used AI hardware in negotiations with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the Armenia agreement was the first public instance of this administration using such means to facilitate a peace agreement. This agreement further deepened the relationship between the White House and the world's largest chip manufacturer.
