BlockBeats News, August 14th, according to Fortune report, an analysis of executive compensation from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) showed that Elon Musk's total compensation in 2025 at Tesla, calculated based on the fair market value on the restricted stock grant date, is approximately $158.3 billion. This amount is equivalent to about 2.52 million times the median Tesla employee's annual salary of $57,243. By this calculation, Musk's compensation every 4.23 seconds is equivalent to one year's salary of a Tesla employee.
The AFL-CIO stated that Musk's 2025 compensation package is at an "unprecedented" level since they began tracking CEO compensation in 1997. His compensation is about 14 times the total compensation of all other S&P 500 company CEOs, while the average S&P 500 company CEO's pay is about 312 times that of the employees.
It is important to note that the $158.3 billion is not the actual cash Musk received in that year but is calculated based on the fair market value of the Tesla restricted stock granted in 2025. The value of these stocks could ultimately reach as high as $1 trillion, contingent upon Tesla meeting corresponding performance milestones.
