BlockBeats News, August 15th, according to Bloomberg, Joshua Kushner's Thrive Capital has acquired approximately $215 million worth of Amazon shares, continuing the venture capital firm's strategy of entering the public market investment.
The investment was disclosed in a regulatory filing on Friday, poised to give Thrive exposure to a large company benefiting from artificial intelligence. Amazon benefits from AI through offering AI-powered shopping tools and providing computing infrastructure to other businesses. Earlier this month, Amazon's market value surpassed $3 trillion for the first time, becoming the fifth company to reach this milestone.
Thrive declined to comment. Amazon representatives did not immediately respond to a comment request.
Thrive is known for its early investments in companies such as SpaceX, Stripe, and OpenAI, with OpenAI also receiving support from Amazon. The venture capital firm's other public market holdings include Figma Inc., Stubhub Holdings Inc., and Oscar Health, co-founded and incubated by Kushner.
