BlockBeats News, August 29th. Serenity raised doubts about the current AI frontier lab's valuation, questioning if it has become "absurd." If Anthropic were to go public with a $20 trillion valuation in the future, then its 10% market value would be equivalent to $2 trillion, theoretically enough to acquire a large number of well-known consumer brands.
Serenity pointed out that this fund size would be sufficient to cover the acquisition of a large number of established consumer brands such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, GAP, American Eagle, Levi's, Victoria's Secret, Cheesecake Factory, Krispy Kreme, Calvin Klein, Kohl's, AMC, Nike, Under Armour, Canada Goose, among others, and theoretically still have around $516 billion remaining after the acquisitions.
Currently, some investors in the market anticipate that Anthropic's potential IPO valuation may reach or exceed $20 trillion, with some investors even giving a higher valuation based on its high-growth expectations.
Serenity's key point is: AI frontier labs are being priced at a valuation far exceeding that of traditional consumer and brick-and-mortar companies. This significant valuation gap has become an intuitive indicator to measure the current AI capital frenzy.
